Yet another Day at Sea

Some Day out on Pacific

Well these days have all kinda woven them selves into a continuous string. The relevance of a watch only counts to know when Happy hour approaches. You'll notice that the blog updates happen and sometime later the pictures get inserted. This is because the pictures take a bit of time and I do them late at night as there is less competition around 11pm for the internet service. The satellite link is slow, and when your competing with others…..

So I shall start with a few updates that cover Sunday through today… which is…. uh …. Wednesday according to the handy handout that is in the room. Kind of a daily cheat sheet for all us old people that is put in your day the night before, which really confuses the really old people as they think its tomorrow already. What I had failed to mention about Sunday dinner, decides it being the first of 4 formal nights on the ship, it that we were joined at our table by the ships doctor, Dr. Ben. From Wisconsin, who also just joined the cruise in San Diego. Ben was wonderful as a conversationalist and he bought the wine for the table, an excellent Chardonnay as wells a Merlot. So, we introduced Dr. Ben to "First of the Day". We all had a grand time as this is Dr Ben's first trip through the Panama Canal as well.

Deblet and Gigi have been pretty regular at the ships shows. Byron and Jan as well. Joan Joe, and I seem to continually miss them. Perhaps it is the 7:00 start time, which is before our 8:00 dinner. That would certainly tax our mind about what clothes to wear and when to dress. After all, we had just barely gotten done with Happy Hour (2 for 1) and they make a mean espresso martini. We have been having out at our favorite bar, "The Ocean Club" on deck 3 midships and have a waiter who takes personally interest in our continual satisfaction as all as libation. His name is …….. Well I can't remember his name but his initials are TJ. Easy to remember. He is neither scotch nor mexican so we won't confuse him with my partying pal TJ.

Tuesday we stopped in Puerto Vallarta Mexico and took a catamaran too Las Calitas, a getaway formerly owned by John Huston. All of us went and backed in the sun and played in the ocean. The water was about 82 so it was acceptable. There were kayaks that Deb and Jan took out, Snorkle Gear for all, and inner tubes for floating. I got Gigi out into the ocean which she really enjoyed but commented on how strange it was that someone who had been such a prolific swimmer was now just floating along using an inner tube.We had drinks on the beach and Byron consumed margaritas as if they were free….. which they were. They had a Mexican Buffet which was surprisingly good  and we all tried the fried cactus which was like a grilled hatch chili.

Wednesday is at sea all day again which we needed after the stress of visiting Las Calaitas. Another day on the treadmill and breakfast with just the basics, eggs, Bacon, sausage, bacon, toast, bacon, fruit, and bacon.Joan had cereal, I had her bacon. Happy hour is upon us and we must soon depart. I will add pictures later.Oh, and it's formal night again! Hope we have another guest…. they buy good wine!!!!
